Nature in Saarland

"Oh, you beautiful bow"

The Saar takes a very special detour between Besseringen and Merzingen. The distance between the two places as the crow flies is only two kilometers, but the Saar connects them with a 180-degree turn over ten kilometers, creating a natural spectacle that has become a symbol of Saarland. Young and old can get a unique view of the river bend on the "Saarschleife Treetop Walk" as they walk along the trees at a height of up to 23 meters.

Bostalsee

The reservoir in the north of Saarland is one of the largest artificial recreational lakes in southwestern Germany. It is located in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park and offers the whole family various excursion options at any time of year.
In both winter and summer, walkers and cyclists circle the lake on two paths that are around seven kilometers long.

Whether it's a leisurely trip on the lake in a pedal boat or an exciting game of beach volleyball: On both sides of the lake, in Bosen and Gonnesweiler, there are boat rental stations and several sandy areas for volleyball, soccer, basketball and handball. If the weather doesn't play along, little adventurers are in good hands in Bosiland: The indoor playground impresses with long slides, a climbing landscape and a go-kart track.
